One Vision, one studio
I'm Jake, and Lazy Friday Studio is me. I've been making games since I was 10 and never stopped. I design, build and ship everything here from Perth, Western Australia - gameplay code, systems, tools, and whatever else the project needs that week.
Programming is my speciality, and the backend is where I'm happiest: the systems and structures that hold a game together. Art is the part I'm worst at, but I'm not precious about it - I have a crack at the 3D and 2D myself when a project needs it, and I keep experimenting with designs and new ways of building them.
Most projects start as a prototype to answer one question, and the ones that answer it well grow into something bigger. Fighter Prototype became the fleet combat in Stolen Home and Armoured Assault; the editor tools all began as an afternoon of frustration.
I care about games that are fun before they are clever: tight controls, honest feedback, and a loop you keep coming back to. I would rather take the awkward problem than the safe one. If you are a publisher, a player, or a creator who wants a build to break, get in touch.
